Of Counsel

This service is offered to law firms that have a need for legal services that is either outside of its area of specialty or requires more time than it can currently devote to a specific area of the law. Of Counsel is not a member of the firm or an employee. Of Counsel maintains a close and continuing business relationship with the firm providing assistance as needed via a contractual arrangement.

Fractional Legal Counsel

Fractional counsel is a good choice for small to mid-size businesses and non-profits. Fractional legal counsel can add immediate financial value to an organization by allowing C-level execs to focus on growing the business by delegating the legal functions to a legal expert, thereby minimizing risk and protecting the company. Fractional legal counsel services are provided as needed and on a part-time basis for companies that are not budgeting in-house legal counsel or have overflow work.

Flat Fee - Transactional

Flat fee transactional services are provided to those who need greater price certainty and prefer to budget their legal expenses in advance. These arrangements can be useful for both the business and the attorney for matters that can be reasonably estimated. Many times, a flat free arrangement serves as a natural transition from what was previously an hourly arrangement once the attorney becomes more familiar with the business client and develops a good working relationship.

Traditional (hourly)

Hourly fee schedules are the most traditional form of payment for legal services. Hourly arrangements are typically suggested when the time devoted to a legal matter cannot reasonably be estimated. When working with BLG, we do our best to provide the most economical options based on the circumstances. We prefer to leave the guesswork out of hiring legal counsel and will do our best to keep fees as low as possible while providing the best services regardless of what you pay.
